Rachel and Josh's Wedding Day

I loved their matching bridesmaid outfits! They looked so comfy I sorta wished I could curl up in one. :)

Seeing each other for the first time...

I'm going CRAZY! I've been a blogging maniac lately and I promise that more great things are on the way (psst....engagement session give-aways, free album upgrades....and MORE! Stay tuned!)

I was so pumped to capture Rachel and Josh's wedding day last Saturday. They had already made a great impression on me during their e-session with their sweet personalities and overwhelming love for each other.
It was such a beautiful event, with every detail done in style. Elish at Flirt Studio for Hair did amazing work with the girls' hair. Rachel's gown was a Melissa Sweet and I especially loved the ornate custom ribbon that Rachel had specially designed for her headpiece! It defnitely added to the ensemble.

The ceremony took place at Patten Chapel on the UTC campus, and their intimate reception was held at a friend's historic residence overlooking the Tennessee River. The cake was provided by Cakemakers and it definitely matched the modern chic style found woven throughout the entire day.
Congrats Rachel and Josh and thanks again!!!

Meet Juliane

I liked her sunglasses...might have to steal them the next time I'm in town!

NEWSIES!
I love this wall. In case you haven't noticed sky blue is my FAVE color and I flipped when I saw the amazing shade of these bricks... I'll try not to over do it but don't be surprised if you see more in the future.
Most of you know that I have many sisters...well 3 total. Recently my younger sister Juliane decided to take the challenge of an internship and plunged in with us during this past semester. She provided office support and management a couple times a week, giving us the freedom and energy to shoot more than ever!
Unfortunately she was taken captive last weekend by the dreaded...SUMMER VACATION and she returned home to Florida. sigh...Hopefully she will agree to another stint in the office come fall!
A few weeks ago we went exploring and I did a mini-shoot for her big debut. Her love for all things vintage and artistic is inspiring and often hilarious (you should see some of her insane art projects! I LOVE IT!). Not that I'm partial, but her creativity is amazing and I often seek her out when I'm looking for tips on projects and ideas.
If things continue to progress, Julie will hopefully begin training under us this next year, so expect to see more from her!

Thanks Julie!

Rebecca and Michael Said I DO!

We were so honored to be a part of Rebecca and Michael wedding celebration on April 19. They are such an amazing couple. I loved how much Michael gushed over Rebecca and just couldn't stop staring at her throughout the entire evening. We wish them the absolute best and I look forward to hearing from them after the honeymoon!

Thanks to our assistant Stacy for grabbing this shot as we sped back to the clubhouse with Rebecca and Michael! I wish we had golfcarts at every wedding!

Michael got a nice little "good luck" tap from his groomsmen. It was obviously NOT expected....

Getting Engaged

Tell Us Why Your Engagement is the BEST!

One of my FAVORITE parts about meeting soon-to-be brides and potential clients is getting to hear their stories. I love hearing about how they met, how they were engaged, and whether or not she knew it was coming! It is so funny when I'm chatting with a couple and the story so often ends up being given in two very different versions. I've heard so many cool ideas and romantic moments that I really wish I would've jotted some down.

So in light of my love for good sappy stories I'm putting on a contest for all of you soon-to-be newlyweds! Tell us why YOUR engagement story is the best by May 15th. We will then judge our favorites and proclaim 2...yes 2...winners by May 17th!

The winning couple will receive a free shoot with (3) 5x7 prints ( e-sessions, bridal portraits, rehearsal coverage; valued at $249) from your's truly or a $150 studio credit, good towards all of our uber cool products and reprints. Oh and of course the winning entry will be featured on our lovely blog!

I know already that so many of you have a great story to tell. Send them my way and share with others the beauty and power of true love (also known as "Twoo Wove" according to the Princess Bride) ;)

Ahhh....Florida!

Many of you know that I was down in Florida last week for some family time (and a little work too). I grew up near Jacksonville and about this time of year I CRAVE warm sticky weather, palm trees and the St. John's River. So I got up early one morning and headed to my favorite spot on the river, cleverly named River Road. :) I used to go running along this path and watching the sunrise and sunset over the river is what I remember best about growing up down there. It was so refreshing to watch the turtles and manatees float in the river and remember how important it is to slow down and breath sometimes. Of course I had to catch a few sunrise shots because the light was terrific.

My challenge for you, my wonderful readers, is to find a special spot today that makes you smile. Sit for just a few minutes and truly appreciate all you have. When I'm not at home that spot is usually a cozy coffee shop or an open field! Let me know what your favorite spot is and why! :)
So while down there I was also honored to throw a bridal shower for my oldest sister Karena! I absolutely LOVE good food (blame it on my catering days) so I was intent on having a relaxing and very indulgent party. Lots of chocolate, flowers, fresh bruschetta and international cheeses. YUM! Thanks to Jean Johnson for her gracious hosting and to my Mom for helping me tie up all the loose ends...Lord knows there were plenty! :)
Ok...enough jabbering for me...

Chocolate favors...mmmm!

Rebecca's a Bride!

Do we like this one in color....
...Or black and white?

The many faces of Rebecca...

One of my favorite times of the year is when we start to get geared up for wedding season! It is so much fun to see what this season has in store for us, and being able to share this with you all is so rewarding. Ok, enough with the mushy gushy.

I met up with soon-to-be bride Rebecca Snyder for her bridal shoot last night and let me tell you...I haven't laughed that hard in a while! She is so much fun to hang with and I know their big day is going to be a blast--especially if last night was a testament to anything! I just loved exploring Cleveland while everything was in full bloom! Right off the bat Rebecca gave me free artistic reign and was so relaxed and carefree that I think it really showed in her pictures.
Bridals are such a great way to get some unique shots while trying out your attire, hair and makeup all at once. The pictures are also great for displaying at the reception, as gifts, or just for memories. I definitely had a rough time choosing my faves for this post!
Thanks again Rebecca for a terrific evening!
